Alicante, November 2021 – ASEFCA – Great success at the XXI International Congress on Adhesion and Adhesives focused on sustainability.
This edition was held in online format due to the health situation of COVID-19 and was organized by the secretary of the GEAA (Spanish Adhesion and Adhesives Group), Francisca Arán Ais, together with the assistant secretary of ASEFCA (Spanish Association of Glue and Adhesives Manufacturers), Carlos Ruzafa Silvestre, whose secretariat is held by ASEFCA.
About 20 technical communications with a high level of research and scientific excellence were presented during the Congress. This year they have focused on different topics such as: sustainability and environmental impact, surface treatments, durability of bonds, synthesis and characterization of adhesives, and adhesion engineering.
As usual, the day before the Congress, November 16, se celebró el Workshop: “Adhesives and sustainability”. where aspects related to the role played by adhesives in the development of sustainable and circular products were addressed, which was given by renowned professionals from universities, technology centers and companies. This workshop was divided into two main blocks: new strategies in circular economy and sustainable solutions and environmental impact.
It is worth mentioning this year the high participation of companies both in the Congress and in the Workshop the day before, surpassing in great percentage to technology centers and universities.
